Quit your complainin'!
Could you not gossip, criticize, or complain for twenty-one days consecutive days?
I'm sure it's old news to some of you, but I recently learned of this challenge from my dental hygienist. The challenge began at a church in Kansas City, MO by Pastor Will Bowen. The challenge is to create a complaint free world.
Impossible? I'm not sure.
You use this purple bracelet (free! here! limit one free order per household) to track your progress. Anytime you find yourself complaining, gossiping or criticizing, move the bracelet to the other arm and begin again. The goal then is 21 complaint free days, which should help successfully form a new habit.
Bowen says when people shift to a complaint free attitude about their life, their health, relationships and even financial situations often improve. Its about focusing on what you DO want in life, rather than what you DON'T. My guess is that at a minimum, it'll improve your attitude.
According to the website, the average person complains 15-30 times per day. To complete this challenge, the average person requires four to ten months to achieve 21 consecutive complaint free days.
So my question is, would you do it? Could you do it? Do you think it's all hooey?
Cuz I'm thinking about doing it. And I'm sure my kids would appreciate if I complained about them a bit less...

Also, Happy Anniversary to my husband. 11 years. 11 freakin' years... oh wait, I'm not complaining. 11 wonderful years! :) Love you!
My school took this iniative this year and got the bracelets....needless to say, it is November and you can't spot them on anyone. I kept telling myself I wasn't ready for the commitment. BUT, to you, I say go for it! It is worth a try at the least!

What a waste! This blog stinks. :) If nobody complained, nothing would ever improve. Just think how bad a lover Mike would be if you didn't set him straight.

I think anything is worth a try these days. Boy, that sounds kinda like a complaint...."these days". Is that called an oxymoron?

If anyone claims to have done this I call Bull$*&%!!!! "Concentrate on what you want in life".... then realize because of someone else you will not ever get that...then complain. It is a simple evolutionary pattern that can't be broken unless you just turn into a criminal and still what you want.
